Paul (known as Skip to friends) is an exhibited and prize winning iPhoneographer from Lincoln, England.
My work features prominently at Photogenix a collaboration with my sister Carly, a freelance private, commercial, location and studio photographer.
I am also an enthusiastic amateur photographer with an SLR, DSLR and Photoshop. However, my main interest lies in the rich and rewarding field of iPhoneography and establishing phoneographer.org seemed a logical and very natural step to take.
It is difficult to argue that in the main, the first photographs taken and cherished by the next generation of photography enthusiasts and professionals will be captured by a device with a camera installed as an add-on to it’s primary function. My young son has developed an interest in photography via his iTouch and whether that progresses to a deeper love of photography and all its technical aspects remains to be seen.
For me, when I first held my iPhone in February 2011 the fire was lit once again for photography and it was only because of my iPhone that I went on to dig out my old SLR and ultimately invest in a DSLR.
phoneographer.org will document my journey and will, I hope, via app workflow notes explain and highlight some of the tools available. There are no right or wrong answers, so whilst I hope you enjoy my work and my posts, I also hope that you will take time to comment and add your own recommendations.
